Called “Cathedral of crystal” for its immense underground vault decorated with a multitude of concretions, the Proumeyssac chasm is the largest cavity in the P\u00e9rigord.<\/p>\n

In the heart of the V\u00e9z\u00e8re valley<\/a>, 21km from the town of Sarlat<\/a>, Les Eyzies offers an unimaginable succession of caves and prehistoric sites<\/a>, in an impressive setting of cliffs.<\/p>\n

At the confluence of the Dordogne and V\u00e9z\u00e8re rivers, Limeuil knew the torments of the Viking invasions and the Hundred Years War, of which only the three fortified gates can still testify.
