Castle of Biron – Issigeac – Montpazier

A major site in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and classified as a historical monument in 1928, Biron is one of the largest in southwest France! Nearly 1000 years of history have sculpted this stone giant, presenting at the same time a medieval, Renaissance and classical castle…

Issigeac is a small town where you can find many craftsmen, restaurants and shops. Its Sunday morning market is particularly famous, attracting thousands of people from all over the world.

Monpazier is a simply superb town. Its medieval center is preserved almost intact, and it is most likely the best of all the bastides to visit and imagine life 600 years ago. The arcades of the edge of the square are still present, as is the covered market. Not to be missed.
